Today we had morning assembly.
Firstly, we had some awards presented. The Senior High Mountaineering Club won the Chugoku Region tournament. A flag and their certificate have been placed outside the school reception.
Next, we heard from the head of the School Festival Planning Committee.
He told us how this unique school festival will only occur on a single day and without guests. In addition, the usual food stalls and cafes will be heavily restricted.
However, he emphasized that we should look at this as a unique opportunity. It is a school festival by the students, but this time it is totally for the students. Usually the students need to balance their own interests with the demands of the public, however this time, due to the unique nature of the COVID-19 influenced school festival, they can focus more wholeheartedly on their own areas of passion.
In closing he reminded students that the classrooms are now all equipped with projectors. He suggested that students planning events think carefully about how to use the projectors to make their participation to the school festival an engaging one.
