Easter Saturday

Yesterday was Good Friday (聖金曜日), the celebration of Jesus’ sacrifice and tomorrow is Easter Sunday, the celebration of his resurrection. Today was the day in between and at Gakuin we had our first Saturday lessons for the year.

After school the boys were playing in the front yard, and clubs were enjoying the fine weather.

The Alpine Club also took the opportunity to hold our club activities for a little longer, too. The junior high boys were able to see the beautiful views out over Nishi-ku.

Over this Easter period, whether or not you are Christian I think it is important to think of “love” and “sacrifice”. Two of the most famous Bible quotes are, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Even in difficult times “Men with others” means that we need to look for opportunities to help and sacrifice of ourselves to help other people.
