Japanese Calligraphy

Last night the chances of Typhoon Mawar hitting Hiroshima were very high, so most students were preparing for a day of staying home. However, the storm moved south and as a result today was a rather dry day in Hiroshima. The lack of a weather warning caused mixed reactions amongst the boys, some had been hoping to spend the day doing something fun if classes were cancelled.

Our visitors from the Philippines are still here, however, so it’s fortunate that one of their precious days with us wasn’t cancelled due to weather.

Today, the Naga boys joined in with the grade 8 calligraphy classes. The Gakuin boys helped choose some ateji for each of the boys’ names. Some had more sense than others.
