Appreciation 感謝
When I first came to Hiroshima Gakuin I was awestruck by the beautiful view from the school’s position on a hill. I think many teachers and students had the same feeling when they first came. As time goes on, many of us start to take the beautiful view for granted. We forget how lucky we are. We forget to be grateful for the location of our school.

This Sunday is Mother’s Day, so yesterday at the morning junior high assembly I spoke about being grateful to your mother. Just like the view from Gakuin, it is easy to take for granted the hard work that our parents do for us, but Mother’s Day gives us a chance to stop and really show our appreciation to our mothers (or other important people). I hope we can all take time to show our love this Sunday.
